Nicole, or better known at COL as “Coop,” grew up in the Golden Valley and attended The Blake School. As someone who’s not one for contact sports, she played golf in high school and even qualified for the State Tournament. Coop went on to earn a degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and gained the “traditional freshman 15.” Near the end of her college career, it was time to shed the extra weight. She took up long distance running, where she completed several half-marathons and two Twin Cities marathons. But after injuries and time took their toll, she craved something different, and that’s when she found COL in 2010.
Coop thought she was in decent condition when she went to her first CrossFit class as she had been marathon training all summer, however it became clear that CrossFit was like nothing she’d ever experienced, and she was hooked. Coop loved the improvements and gains that came with training, as well as building comradery with other members. After finishing her dual masters program at Hamline University, Coop completed her Level 1 in 2013 and has continued to cultivate her love for the sport, as well as coaching up fellow athletes.
Coop currently works full time designing custom trips for a luxury travel company in Wayzata. She loves travel, good food and time outdoors with her husband and two daughters.
