In the 10 weeks I’ve been working out at CrossFit City of Lakes, I’ve seen more change in my physique than months of working out in a traditional gym setting. Prior to joining CrossFit, I had not been to the gym consistently for quite a while and I now know why….it was boring!
This is the best physical shape I’ve been in since high school when I played basketball and was in athletics. Believe me – I still have a ways to go. It is amazing what an intense and short workout can do for a human body. I can say that I feel great. I feel strong, determined, and positive about my life and health.
Of course it takes dedication and determination more than anything to be able to reach a state where we feel and look great, both mentally and physically.
Seeing muscles popping out and body parts shrinking is a definite motivator; sore and fatigue at times but I go back for more. I could not believe the feeling I was getting after just a couple workouts….you know the one that you get when you like something….you want more!!!!
I love it….this is what you’ll find me saying about CF to my family, friends and co-workers….I love it!!!

I have tried all the big box gyms that you can think of, Gold’s, Lifetime, Snap and CrossFit City of Lakes blows them all away. It’s nice to come to the gym and know that I don’t have to fight for the equipment that I will use for that day. It’s great because I know that my form is going to be watched and improved on because we take the time and practice the different movements during every workout. I also like the fact that not once have I gone through the same workout of the day (WOD) but have seen great improvement in the way I feel and look.
Results are the main reason that I found CrossFit City of Lakes. I have two jobs that focus on physical fitness and I’m trying to get into another field that also requires me to be at my physical peak. Knowing that I needed a kick in my pants I broke down and pushed my ego to the side and asked Jordan for help. When I first started at CrossFit Jordan gave a seminar on the Paleo Diet, and knowing that my digestion was not the best at the time I choose to try out the Paleo lifestyle. It worked great, most of my symptoms went away and I started losing weight for the first time in six years. I’m down 2% body fat in just over a month, I no longer get hypoglycemic feelings and my food tastes better too.
For one of my jobs I am required to take a physical fitness test that requires a 2 mile run, which is timed, and doing nothing but CrossFit for one month I took 50 seconds off my time. To get those same results it used to take me 6 months of running 5 days a week to achieve. The extra fat stores are disappearing and I’m getting faster and stronger every workout. Since I have seen so many results from just one month, I can’t wait to see what kind of shape I’m in 6 months from now. That is also why I like CrossFit City of Lakes so much because I could have gone to a big box gym and paid twice as much for a trainer and membership to see only half of the results that I get from CrossFit. I save money, get great results and have fun pushing myself and that keeps me coming back to the gym as many days I can each week. – Greg B.
I just wanted to say thank you for the training plan you put together for me for my 10 mile race. I have ran a marathon, a half-marathon, and an 11 mile in the past and have always trained for those races using the traditional training schedules that include long runs on weekends and shorter runs during the week. Using your plan I was able to improve my overall time and race pace without ever running more than 4 miles at any one time. – Tim S.
